Responsibilities
- Screen passengers and carry-on luggage for prohibited items using X-ray machines and manual search techniques
- Operate advanced security technology including CT scanners and explosive detection systems
- Conduct thorough pat-down searches and baggage inspections as needed
- Verify travel documents and boarding passes for all passengers
- Maintain orderly security checkpoint operations and enforce TSA protocols
- Respond to security incidents with calm professionalism and proper escalation procedures
- Collaborate with law enforcement and airport personnel during emergency situations
Qualifications
- US citizenship or legal resident status with required immigration documentation
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Ability to pass extensive background check and drug screening
- Must be at least 18 years old and fluent in English
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
- Basic computer skills and ability to learn security systems quickly
- Excellent communication skills and customer service demeanor
- Willingness to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays
