Responsibilities
- Screen Passengers and Baggage: Operate X-ray machines and advanced imaging technology to detect prohibited items in carry-on luggage and personal effects.
- Security Protocols: Enforce screening procedures and security regulations to maintain a secure environment for travelers and airport staff.
- Public Interaction: Communicate clearly and professionally with passengers, providing guidance on security procedures and resolving inquiries with patience and courtesy.
- Equipment Maintenance: Perform daily inspections and basic maintenance on screening equipment to ensure operational readiness.
- Collaboration: Work closely with fellow officers and supervisors to coordinate checkpoint operations and ensure efficient throughput during peak travel times.
- Documentation: Verify travel documents and complete necessary paperwork accurately and in a timely manner.
Qualifications
- U.S. Citizenship: Must be a U.S. citizen or national.
- Education: Minimum of a High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Background Check: Ability to pass a criminal history background check and obtain a Secret security clearance.
- Physical Requirements: Must be able to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and pass a medical examination.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Technical Aptitude: Ability to learn and operate complex screening machinery and technology.
