As a TSA Security Screener, you will be the first line of defense in securing our nation's transportation systems. Your role is critical in ensuring the safety and security of millions of passengers traveling through Indianapolis International Airport and other federal facilities. Responsibilities
- Screening Operations: Operate advanced X-ray and CT imaging equipment to detect prohibited items in carry-on and checked baggage.
- Passenger Assistance: Professionally screen passengers and their property while maintaining a customer service-oriented approach to inquiries.
- Security Response: Respond immediately to security alerts, threats, or irregularities to ensure the safety of the facility.
- Compliance: Adhere to all TSA regulations, security directives, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) at all times.
- Physical Duties: Perform lifting, bending, standing, and walking for extended periods as required by the screening process.
- Documentation: Complete necessary reports and logs regarding screening activities and security incidents.
Qualifications
- U.S. Citizenship: Must be a U.S. citizen or national.
- Education: High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED).
- Background Check: Must pass a background investigation, including fingerprinting and a credit check.
- Drug Screening: Must pass a pre-employment and random drug testing program.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs and pass a medical exam.
- Communication: Excellent verbal communication skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Legal Status: Must be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship.
