Job Summary:
As a TSA Security Screener, you will be responsible for screening passengers, carry-on luggage, and checked baggage using state-of-the-art technology. You will ensure compliance with federal regulations while maintaining a high standard of customer service. This position requires a keen eye for detail and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
Responsibilities
- Operate advanced imaging technology and X-ray equipment to screen passengers and baggage for prohibited items.
- Conduct thorough pat-downs and physical searches when imaging technology indicates a potential threat.
- Verify travel documents, including passports and boarding passes, to ensure authorization to travel.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace, including the decontamination and cleaning of screening equipment.
- Monitor security checkpoint queues to ensure a safe and efficient flow of passengers.
- Assist in emergency response procedures and participate in security drills.
- Provide clear and professional communication to passengers regarding screening procedures and regulations.
Qualifications
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or National.
- Must be able to pass a Federal background investigation, including fingerprinting and a drug screen.
- Ability to pass a medical examination and meet physical fitness standards (ability to lift 50 lbs, stand for long periods, and perform repetitive motions).
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to make quick, sound decisions in high-pressure situations.
- Excellent customer service skills and the ability to interact courteously with the public.
- Willingness to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
