Responsibilities
- Screen passengers and property at screening checkpoints using X-ray machines and walk-through metal detectors.
- Conduct physical pat-downs and searches of individuals and carry-on baggage to detect prohibited items.
- Identify, isolate, and report potential security threats or hazardous materials immediately.
- Enforce federal security regulations regarding prohibited items and passenger behavior.
- Operate and monitor advanced screening technology and imaging systems.
- Communicate clearly with passengers to explain screening procedures and resolve issues professionally.
- Collaborate with team members to maintain an efficient flow of passengers and minimize wait times.
Qualifications
- United States Citizenship or Lawful Permanent Residency status required.
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED) is mandatory.
- Ability to pass a thorough background investigation, including criminal history and drug screening.
- Pass a medical examination, including vision and hearing tests (corrective lenses acceptable).
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs unassisted.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, even under stressful situations.
- No felony convictions involving moral turpitude.
