Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough and effective screening of passengers, carry-on baggage, and property to detect prohibited items and security threats.
- Operate X-ray machines and explosive trace detection equipment to identify potential hazards while maintaining a high throughput of passengers.
- Perform physical pat-downs and bag checks in accordance with TSA Screening Management System (SMS) policies and regulations.
- Provide exceptional customer service to travelers, maintaining a professional and courteous demeanor during high-pressure situations.
- Adhere to all security protocols and emergency procedures to ensure the safety of the traveling public and airport personnel.
- Document all screening activities and report any suspicious behavior or unattended items immediately to law enforcement or supervisory personnel.
Qualifications
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or Lawful Permanent Resident (Green Card holder).
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience.
- Ability to pass a federal background investigation, drug screen, and medical fitness exam.
- Must be able to speak, read, and write in English fluently.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 25 lbs, as required by the job.
