Responsibilities
- Screening Operations: Operate X-ray equipment and walk-through metal detectors to identify prohibited items in carry-on and checked baggage.
- Pat-Down Procedures: Conduct thorough pat-downs and physical searches of passengers to ensure compliance with security protocols.
- Passenger Interaction: Communicate effectively with passengers to explain screening procedures and resolve any security concerns calmly and professionally.
- Security Compliance: Adhere strictly to all TSA security directives, policies, and regulations to maintain a secure environment.
- Incident Reporting: Identify, document, and report any suspicious behavior or security anomalies to supervisors immediately.
- Equipment Maintenance: Monitor screening equipment for proper operation and report any malfunctions or maintenance needs.
Qualifications
- U.S. Citizenship: Must be a U.S. citizen or national.
- Background Check: Must successfully complete a federal background investigation and obtain a Secret security clearance.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
- English Proficiency: Ability to speak, read, and understand English clearly.
- Physical Requirements: Must be able to pass a medical examination and meet physical fitness standards required for the position.
- No Criminal Record: Must not have a disqualifying criminal history or drug use issues.
