Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough security screenings of passengers, carry-on luggage, and cargo using X-ray machines, metal detectors, and manual search techniques
- Identify and report prohibited items, suspicious behavior, and potential security threats according to TSA protocols
- Provide exceptional customer service to travelers while maintaining security efficiency and professional demeanor
- Operate and maintain advanced screening equipment, performing routine calibrations and quality checks
- Collaborate with law enforcement and airport personnel to address security incidents and emergency situations
- Complete detailed documentation of screening activities and security incidents using digital reporting systems
- Participate in continuous training on security procedures, threat detection, and customer service best practices
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship with ability to pass a thorough background investigation and security clearance
- High school diploma or GED equivalent with additional security screening training provided
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 70 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation
- Strong observational skills and attention to detail with ability to identify potential threats
- Effective communication skills in English with ability to interact professionally with diverse populations
- Flexibility to work rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Basic computer proficiency for operating screening equipment and digital reporting systems
- No felony convictions or disqualifying criminal history as per TSA guidelines
