Responsibilities
- Screen passengers and carry-on baggage using advanced X-ray technology and manual search techniques
- Identify and report potential security threats, prohibited items, and suspicious behavior
- Operate security equipment including metal detectors, CT scanners, and explosive detection systems
- Maintain orderly checkpoint operations while providing courteous customer service to travelers
- Enforce TSA security protocols and respond to security incidents per established procedures
- Document security activities and maintain accurate screening records
- Collaborate with law enforcement and airport personnel during emergency situations
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship required
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Ability to pass a thorough background investigation and drug screening
- Valid U.S. driver's license (if required for position)
- Ability to stand/walk for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
- Basic computer proficiency and ability to learn security software systems
- Strong communication skills and ability to remain calm under pressure
- Willingness to work rotating shifts, nights, weekends, and holidays
