Responsibilities
- Screen passengers and carry-on luggage using X-ray machines and walk-through metal detectors
- Conduct thorough pat-down searches and baggage inspections as required
- Verify travel documents and boarding passes against passenger manifests
- Identify prohibited items and security threats using advanced detection technology
- Communicate security procedures clearly and professionally to diverse travelers
- Maintain accurate security logs and incident reports
- Collaborate with law enforcement and airport personnel during security incidents
- Participate in continuous security training and recertification programs
Qualifications
- US citizenship or legal resident status (required for federal employment)
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Ability to pass extensive background check and drug screening
- Basic computer literacy for operating screening equipment
- Strong attention to detail and observational skills
- Ability to stand for extended periods (4-6 hour shifts)
