Responsibilities
- Screen passengers and carry-on luggage using advanced X-ray technology and metal detectors
- Conduct thorough pat-down searches and bag inspections to identify prohibited items
- Operate security equipment and maintain checkpoint efficiency during peak travel times
- Communicate professionally with diverse passengers, providing clear instructions and assistance
- Document security incidents and maintain accurate checkpoint activity logs
- Collaborate with law enforcement and airport personnel to ensure seamless security operations
- Adhere to TSA protocols and continuously update knowledge on security threats
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship (required)
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED accepted)
- Ability to speak, read, and write English fluently
- Pass a thorough background check and drug screening
- Successfully complete TSA's paid training program
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance
