Responsibilities
- Receive, prioritize, and process emergency and non-emergency calls for service with speed and accuracy.
- Dispatch law enforcement, fire, and medical units to incident locations using computer-aided dispatch (CAD) systems.
- Maintain accurate logs and records of all dispatch activities and radio communications.
- Provide vital information to responding officers and coordinate scene safety.
- Monitor security cameras and electronic sensor systems to detect and report suspicious activities.
- Calmly communicate with victims, witnesses, and emergency personnel during high-stress situations.
- Perform data entry and update criminal justice information systems in real-time.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- U.S. Citizenship and valid New Mexico Driver's License.
- Ability to pass a thorough background investigation, including a polygraph examination and psychological evaluation.
- Excellent typing skills (minimum 40 WPM) with high accuracy.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to remain calm and focused in high-stress, fast-paced environments.
- Basic computer proficiency and familiarity with radio communication equipment.
