Responsibilities
- Answer emergency and non-emergency calls with speed and professionalism
- Operate multi-line telephone systems and radio communications
- Dispatch appropriate emergency services (police, fire, EMS) based on protocols
- Maintain detailed logs and records of all communications
- Utilize CAD (Computer-Aided Dispatch) systems efficiently
- Remain calm and composed during high-pressure emergency situations
- Provide clear instructions to callers and field units
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- US citizenship and valid NC driver's license
- Ability to pass background check and drug screening
- Minimum typing speed of 40 WPM
- Excellent communication and listening skills
- Ability to multitask in high-stress environments
- No felony convictions
- Must be at least 18 years old
