Responsibilities
- Screen passengers, carry-on baggage, and cargo for prohibited items using X-ray machines, metal detectors, and advanced imaging technology.
- Interact professionally and courteously with travelers while enforcing security regulations.
- Identify potential threats and take immediate, appropriate action to ensure safety.
- Operate and maintain screening equipment in accordance with TSA standards.
- Document screening results accurately and report any irregularities or safety concerns to supervisors.
- Perform administrative tasks such as verifying documentation and completing reports.
Qualifications
- U.S. Citizenship: Must be a U.S. citizen or national.
- Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
- Background Check: Must be able to pass a background check, including a fingerprint-based criminal history check and a drug screening.
- Physical Requirements: Must be able to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and pass a medical examination.
- Drug Policy: No history of illegal drug use, including marijuana (for states where it is legal).
- Communication: Excellent verbal communication skills and the ability to follow detailed instructions.
