Responsibilities
- Screen passengers, baggage, and cargo using X-ray machines, metal detectors, and pat-down procedures
- Identify and report prohibited items while maintaining strict security protocols
- Operate advanced screening equipment and conduct threat detection assessments
- Provide exceptional customer service to travelers during security screening processes
- Maintain accurate documentation of security incidents and screening activities
- Collaborate with law enforcement and airport personnel during security incidents
- Complete annual recertification and specialized training modules
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship required
- Minimum age of 18 years old
- Pass extensive background check and drug screening
- Successfully complete TSA's paid training program (4-6 weeks)
- Ability to lift 50 pounds occasionally and stand for extended periods
- Strong attention to detail and situational awareness skills
- Ability to work rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Basic computer proficiency for documentation systems
