Responsibilities
- Conduct Security Screening: Operate X-ray machines and walk-through metal detectors to inspect passengers, carry-on baggage, and cargo for prohibited items and threats.
- Provide Exceptional Service: Interact professionally with travelers of all backgrounds, explaining screening procedures with patience and clarity.
- Enforce Security Protocols: Adhere to strict federal regulations and TSA policies to ensure the safety of the transportation system.
- Assess and Adjudicate: Identify potential security risks and make immediate, appropriate decisions regarding enforcement actions.
- Maintain Vigilance: Perform repetitive physical tasks and stand for extended periods while maintaining a high level of alertness and attention to detail.
Qualifications
- U.S. Citizenship: Must be a U.S. citizen or national.
- Background Check: Must successfully pass a TSA background check, including fingerprinting and a criminal history review.
- Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
- Physical Ability: Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull items weighing up to 50 pounds; vision correctable to 20/20.
- Availability: Must be willing to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
