Responsibilities
- Screening Operations: Conduct thorough screening of passengers, carry-on luggage, and checked baggage using X-ray machines, metal detectors, and advanced imaging technology.
- Prohibited Item Detection: Identify and seize prohibited items, weapons, or dangerous materials in accordance with strict security protocols.
- Passenger Assistance: Assist travelers with disabilities or special needs, providing clear instructions and ensuring a smooth screening process.
- Protocol Adherence: Strictly follow TSA regulations, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and security directives to ensure safety compliance.
- Conflict Resolution: De-escalate tense situations with travelers professionally and respectfully, maintaining a calm demeanor under pressure.
- Equipment Maintenance: Monitor screening equipment for proper operation and report any malfunctions or maintenance needs immediately.
Qualifications
- Eligibility: U.S. Citizenship or Lawful Permanent Resident status required; must pass a federal background investigation.
- Education: High school diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED) required.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and perform repetitive motions. Must meet visual acuity standards.
- Character: No disqualifying criminal history; must pass a drug screening and medical examination.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to follow complex instructions.
- Availability: Ability to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays as required by operational needs.
