Responsibilities
- Screening Operations: Operate X-ray equipment, metal detectors, and body scanners to detect prohibited items in carry-on and checked baggage.
- Passenger Inspection: Perform thorough pat-downs and physical inspections of passengers to ensure compliance with security regulations.
- Customer Service: Provide courteous, efficient, and professional service to travelers while explaining screening procedures and resolving conflicts.
- Security Enforcement: Enforce all applicable laws, regulations, and TSA directives to maintain a secure airport environment.
- Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine checks and basic troubleshooting on screening equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Documentation: Accurately complete required paperwork, logs, and incident reports as directed by supervision.
Qualifications
- Education: Must have a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent certificate of completion from a government-approved program.
- Citizenship: Must be a U.S. citizen or national.
- Background Check: Must pass a thorough background investigation, including a drug screen and medical examination.
- Physical Requirements: Must be able to stand for long periods, lift up to 25 lbs, and pass a physical fitness test.
- Availability: Must be willing to work rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays.
- Technical Skills: Basic computer literacy and the ability to operate complex screening machinery.
