Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough security screening of passengers, baggage, and cargo at airport checkpoints
- Operate advanced imaging technology, X-ray machines, and trace detection equipment
- Perform pat-down searches and baggage inspections following TSA protocols
- Identify and report suspicious items or activities to supervisors
- Maintain strict confidentiality and professionalism while interacting with travelers
- Document security incidents and screening activities accurately
- Participate in recurrent training and security drills
Qualifications
- US Citizenship or legal resident status with appropriate documentation
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Pass thorough background investigation and security clearance
- Ability to obtain and maintain TSA certification
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 70 pounds
- Strong attention to detail and observational skills
- Ability to work in high-pressure, fast-paced environments
- Basic computer proficiency for documentation systems
