Responsibilities
- Screen passengers and carry-on luggage at security checkpoints using X-ray machines and metal detectors
- Conduct thorough physical searches of individuals and property when necessary
- Operate advanced imaging technology and explosive detection systems
- Enforce TSA security regulations with professionalism and customer service focus
- Document security incidents and maintain accurate records
- Collaborate with law enforcement and airport personnel during security situations
- Train and mentor new security screeners on standard operating procedures
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship required
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Ability to pass a background investigation and drug screening
- Valid state driver's license (if required for position)
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
- Strong attention to detail and observational skills
- Ability to work rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Basic computer proficiency and willingness to learn new technologies
