Responsibilities
- Screen passengers, carry-on luggage, and cargo for prohibited items using X-ray machines, metal detectors, and manual search techniques
- Conduct thorough pat-down searches and explosive detection swabbing when necessary
- Verify travel documents and boarding passes against passenger information
- Respond to security breaches and emergency situations following TSA protocols
- Operate advanced security equipment and maintain accurate screening logs
- Provide excellent customer service while enforcing security regulations
- Collaborate with law enforcement and airport personnel during security incidents
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship required
- Must pass a background investigation and drug screening
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Ability to work rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Basic computer literacy and data entry skills
- Valid U.S. driver's license
- Ability to speak, read, and write English fluently
