Responsibilities
- Screen passengers and baggage using advanced imaging technology and metal detectors to detect prohibited items
- Conduct thorough pat-down searches and bag inspections following TSA protocols
- Operate X-ray machines and other security equipment with precision and efficiency
- Enforce security regulations while maintaining professional customer service standards
- Document security incidents and suspicious activities using TSA reporting systems
- Collaborate with law enforcement and airport personnel during security breaches
- Stay updated on emerging threats and security procedures through continuous training
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship required
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Ability to pass a thorough background investigation and drug screening
- Successfully complete TSA's security training program
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
- Strong attention to detail and observational skills
- Ability to communicate effectively in high-pressure situations
- Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays
