Responsibilities
- Screen passengers, carry-on baggage, and cargo using X-ray machines and manual inspection techniques
- Conduct thorough pat-down searches and physical inspections of individuals and property
- Operate advanced security equipment including CT scanners, ETD devices, and trace detection systems
- Enforce TSA security protocols and respond to security alerts with immediate action
- Document security incidents and maintain detailed screening logs
- Provide clear communication to travelers regarding security procedures and prohibited items
- Collaborate with law enforcement and airport personnel during security incidents
- Maintain constant vigilance to detect potential threats and suspicious behavior
Qualifications
- Must be a U.S. citizen and pass extensive background investigation
- Ability to obtain and maintain a TSA security clearance
- High school diploma or equivalent required (college preferred)
- Valid driver's license and ability to pass medical/fitness assessment
- Proficiency in English language (reading, writing, speaking)
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
- Must be available to work rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Previous customer service or security screening experience preferred
