Responsibilities
- Operate X-ray machines and walk-through metal detectors to screen passengers and carry-on baggage
- Conduct physical pat-down searches and explosive trace detection procedures
- Verify travel documents and boarding passes against passenger identities
- Monitor security checkpoints to detect prohibited items and suspicious behavior
- Provide excellent customer service to travelers during security screening processes
- Enforce TSA security regulations with professionalism and discretion
- Report security incidents and maintain accurate screening documentation
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship or legal resident status with required immigration documents
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED accepted)
- Ability to obtain and maintain a TSA Security Screening badge
- Pass background check, drug test, and medical evaluation
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
- Strong attention to detail and observational skills
- Basic computer literacy and ability to learn technical screening equipment
- Ability to work rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
