Responsibilities
- Screen passengers and carry-on luggage for prohibited items using X-ray machines, metal detectors, and manual pat-down techniques
- Operate advanced security technology including CT scanners, explosive detection systems, and trace detection equipment
- Enforce TSA security regulations while maintaining professional customer service standards
- Document security incidents and suspicious activity through official reporting systems
- Collaborate with law enforcement agencies during security escalations
- Conduct baggage inspections and cargo screening as required
- Maintain security checkpoint efficiency while adhering to SOPs
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship required
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Pass thorough background investigation and drug screening
- Ability to stand for extended periods in high-stress environments
- Basic computer literacy and ability to learn security software systems
- Strong attention to detail with observational skills
- Ability to communicate effectively in English (written and verbal)
- Must pass TSA's aptitude test and security screening process
