Responsibilities
- Operate X-ray machines and walk-through metal detectors to screen passengers and carry-on baggage
- Conduct physical pat-down searches and explosive trace detection procedures
- Verify travel documents and boarding passes against passenger manifests
- Monitor security checkpoints and respond to suspicious items or activities
- Maintain accurate screening logs and incident reports
- Collaborate with law enforcement and airport personnel during security incidents
- Adhere to TSA Standard Operating Procedures and federal regulations
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship required
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Pass background investigation and drug screening
- Ability to stand for extended periods (up to 8 hours)
- Strong communication skills in English (additional languages a plus)
- Ability to handle stressful situations professionally
- Basic computer literacy for documentation systems
