Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain accurate court records, including filings, docketing, and archiving of legal documents.
- Interact with attorneys, judges, litigants, and the general public in a professional and courteous manner.
- Receive and process payments for fines, fees, and court costs, ensuring proper documentation and reconciliation.
- Prepare and issue subpoenas, summonses, and other legal notices according to court procedures.
- Assist in the scheduling of court hearings, arraignments, and trials.
- Operate office equipment, including copiers, scanners, and case management software.
- Perform data entry and maintain computerized databases with high attention to detail.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required; Associate’s degree in Paralegal Studies or Business Administration is preferred.
- Previous experience in a courthouse, legal office, or municipal government setting is strongly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of office procedures, filing systems, and record-keeping principles.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to handle sensitive information confidentially.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and court management software (e.g., Case Management System).
- Must possess a high degree of integrity, professionalism, and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
