Responsibilities
- Operate heavy machinery (excavators, bulldozers, loaders) under certified supervision
- Perform manual labor including excavation, grading, and material handling
- Install/maintain public utilities (water lines, storm drains, traffic signals)
- Adhere to strict OSHA safety protocols for all site operations
- Assist in emergency response during natural disasters
- Conduct routine inspections of public works infrastructure
- Maintain accurate project documentation and daily logs
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED accepted)
- Valid Louisiana driver's license with clean record
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds repeatedly throughout shifts
- Pass pre-employment physical and drug screening
- Willingness to work in all weather conditions
- Basic math skills for material calculations
- Ability to follow verbal/written instructions precisely
