Responsibilities
- Oversee municipal records management, including document preservation, indexing, and public access protocols
- Manage city council meetings agenda preparation, minute-taking, and official documentation
- Administer public records requests in compliance with Washington State Public Records Act
- Lead election administration coordination including voter registration and ballot processing
- Suppose municipal code updates, ordinance codification, and legislative tracking
- Develop and implement records retention policies aligned with legal requirements
- Serve as primary liaison between city departments and governing bodies
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Business, or related field (Master's preferred)
- 5+ years municipal government experience with records management focus
- Expertise in Washington State public records laws and municipal governance
- Proficiency with records management systems (e.g., Laserfiche, M-Files)
- Strong written/verbal communication and public presentation skills
- Proven ability to manage high-volume records requests under tight deadlines
- Professional certification (e.g., CRM, MCRMA) highly desirable
