Responsibilities
- Coordinate with federal, state, and local agencies to ensure effective disaster response and recovery operations.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive emergency operations plans and procedures for the county.
- Analyze data and prepare detailed reports regarding incident response and resource allocation.
- Conduct training exercises and workshops to educate staff and the community on emergency preparedness.
- Manage communication channels during crises to provide timely updates to stakeholders.
- Oversee the procurement of emergency supplies and logistical support for disaster relief efforts.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Emergency Management, or a related field is preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in emergency services, government operations, or a related sector.
- Certification as a FEMA Emergency Manager (desired but not mandatory) or equivalent experience.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex regulations and policies.
- Valid Class C Driver’s License and a clean driving record.
- Ability to work irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and during emergency events.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and emergency management software systems.
