We are seeking an exceptional Federal Pension Specialist to join our elite team in Seattle, WA. In this high-visibility position, you will act as the subject matter expert for pension calculations, ensuring full compliance with Office of Personnel Management (OPM) guidelines. You will play a critical role in the financial security of federal employees, providing accurate data analysis and exceptional client service.
Responsibilities
- Analyze and process federal pension calculations, including FERS, CSRS, and survivor benefits, ensuring 100% accuracy.
- Ensure strict adherence to federal regulations, agency policies, and OPM guidelines.
- Communicate complex pension benefits and eligibility information clearly to federal employees and beneficiaries.
- Prepare and review comprehensive monthly reports for compliance audits and management reviews.
- Collaborate with IT and operations teams to optimize pension plan software and data integrity.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of legislative changes impacting federal retirement systems.
- Provide expert consultation on retirement planning and deferred compensation options.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of direct experience in federal benefits administration or pension plan management.
- Deep understanding of FERS, CSRS, TSP, and federal retirement regulations.
- Proficient in MS Excel (advanced functions) and experience with database management or ERPs.
- Strong analytical skills with a meticulous attention to detail in a high-volume environment.
- Ability to work independently in a remote or hybrid setting with excellent self-discipline.
- U.S. Citizenship required for federal contract work.
