Responsibilities
- Enforce municipal codes and state regulations across commercial districts
- Conduct on-site inspections of businesses and public facilities
- Investigate regulatory violations and recommend corrective actions
- Prepare detailed compliance reports and maintain regulatory databases
- Collaborate with legal counsel on enforcement proceedings
- Train businesses on updated regulatory requirements
- Represent the department in public hearings and community meetings
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Business, or related field
- Minimum 3 years of regulatory compliance experience
- Texas Peace Officer License or ability to obtain within 6 months
- Proficiency in regulatory software (e.g., Qtrac, Accela)
- Valid Texas driver's license with clean record
- Advanced knowledge of Texas Administrative Code
- Strong conflict resolution and public communication skills
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings/weekends
