Job Overview
This role is pivotal in maintaining the integrity of our city's digital assets. You will work closely with various departments to implement technology solutions that drive efficiency and service excellence.
Responsibilities
- Network Management: Design, implement, and maintain the City's local and wide-area network infrastructure to ensure high availability and security.
- Cybersecurity: Monitor network traffic for suspicious activity, respond to security incidents, and enforce compliance with federal and state cybersecurity standards.
- System Administration: Manage servers, databases, and cloud-based applications, ensuring optimal performance and uptime for government operations.
- Technical Support: Provide advanced troubleshooting and technical support to internal staff, resolving complex hardware and software issues efficiently.
- Project Management: Assist in the planning and execution of IT projects, including software upgrades and hardware deployments.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of network configurations, security protocols, and system changes.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Certifications: CompTIA Security+ or higher is required; CISSP or CCNA preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in IT infrastructure, network administration, or cybersecurity within a government or enterprise environment.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Windows Server, Linux, Active Directory, and virtualization technologies (VMware/Hyper-V).
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Problem Solving: Strong analytical skills and the ability to troubleshoot under pressure.
