Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive financial audits of state agencies, specifically focusing on pension fund compliance and reporting.
- Analyze financial data to identify risks, assess internal controls, and ensure adherence to government regulations.
- Prepare detailed audit reports and present findings to management and legislative committees.
- Collaborate with agency personnel to implement process improvements and strengthen financial governance.
- Monitor changes in federal and state pension laws to ensure ongoing regulatory compliance.
- Assist in the preparation of complex budgetary reports and financial forecasts.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration; CPA or CIA certification is strongly preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in government auditing or public accounting.
- Deep understanding of government accounting standards, pension regulations, and financial reporting.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and identify trends.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for presenting technical findings to non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
