Responsibilities
- Inspect construction sites for compliance with city codes and safety standards
- Review engineering plans and documentation for accuracy
- Document violations and issue correction notices
- Coordinate with contractors, engineers, and city officials
- Prepare detailed inspection reports and maintain records
- Investigate public complaints related to construction projects
- Test materials and soil quality as required
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years construction inspection experience
- Valid Michigan Inspector certification (or ability to obtain within 90 days)
- Strong knowledge of OSHA and local building codes
- Proficiency in CAD software and reporting tools
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Valid Michigan driver's license with clean record
- U.S. citizenship or legal resident status
