Responsibilities
- Analyze complex federal/state/local legislation and develop actionable policy recommendations
- Lead cross-departmental task forces on public health, housing, and transportation initiatives
- Prepare detailed budgetary impact assessments for proposed policies
- Present findings to County Board of Supervisors and legislative committees
- Oversee implementation of new ordinances with 20+ agency stakeholders
- Conduct public hearings and community engagement sessions
- Monitor compliance with California Government Code requirements
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Public Policy, Public Administration, or related field
- 5+ years of government policy analysis experience
- Proficiency in policy development software (e.g., PolicyMap, R Studio)
- Valid California driver’s license with clean record
- Experience with federal grant applications (SAM.gov)
- Knowledge of CA Sunshine Act and open meeting laws
- Advanced statistical analysis capabilities (SPSS, SAS)
- Active security clearance preferred
