Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance, repair, and cleaning of public infrastructure, including streets, parks, and facilities.
- Operate heavy machinery and equipment, including backhoes, dump trucks, and landscaping tools, safely and efficiently.
- Respond to emergency maintenance requests and service calls during business hours and on-call rotations.
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal safety regulations and environmental standards.
- Assist in the installation and maintenance of traffic control devices and signage.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and time spent on projects.
- Interact professionally with the public, providing information and assistance regarding city services.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Valid California Class C Driverβs License and a clean driving record required.
- Physical ability to perform manual labor, including lifting up to 50 lbs, bending, stooping, and working in various weather conditions.
- Experience with basic hand tools and power equipment is highly preferred.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately.
- Strong commitment to public service and community safety.
- Must pass a pre-employment background check and drug screening.
