Responsibilities
- Develop and implement emergency response protocols for public health crises
- Coordinate multi-agency disaster response efforts including FEMA, CDC, and state health departments
- Conduct risk assessments and vulnerability analyses for San Antonio communities
- Manage emergency supply chains and resource allocation during crises
- Train public health staff on emergency procedures and compliance standards
- Prepare grant proposals and reports for federal emergency preparedness funding
- Lead public communication campaigns during health emergencies
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Emergency Management, or related field (Master's preferred)
- Minimum 3 years experience in public health emergency response
- Certified Emergency Manager (CEM) or equivalent certification required
- Proficiency in emergency management software (e.g., WebEOC, EMTrack)
- Strong knowledge of FEMA NIMS/ICS protocols
- Bilingual proficiency in English/Spanish required
- Valid Texas driver's license and ability to work irregular hours during emergencies
- Experience with federal grant management and reporting
