Responsibilities
- Conduct routine inspections of food establishments, childcare facilities, and public accommodations
- Investigate public health complaints and disease outbreaks
- Enforce state health regulations and local ordinances
- Prepare detailed inspection reports and violation notices
- Provide educational outreach to businesses and community groups
- Collaborate with epidemiology and environmental health teams
- Maintain accurate inspection databases and documentation
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health, Public Health, or related field
- Minimum 2 years of environmental health inspection experience
- Valid NE Public Health Inspector certification (or ability to obtain within 6 months)
- Strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations
- Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
- Valid Nebraska driver's license and reliable transportation
