Responsibilities
- Coordinate emergency response protocols during natural disasters and public safety incidents
- Liaise with federal, state, and local agencies to ensure seamless crisis communication
- Develop and maintain public safety education programs for San Diego residents
- Analyze incident data to recommend infrastructure improvements
- Manage grant applications and compliance for public safety funding
- Lead community outreach initiatives for disaster preparedness
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Emergency Management, or related field
- 3+ years of government/public sector experience
- Certification in Incident Command System (ICS) or equivalent
- Valid California Driver's License
- Proficiency in GIS mapping and emergency management software
- Ability to work flexible hours including nights/weekends during emergencies
- Clearances: FBI background check and drug screening required
