Responsibilities
- Manage Public Inquiries: Serve as the primary point of contact for residents, efficiently addressing questions and concerns regarding local government services.
- Process Applications: Review, verify, and process applications for permits, licenses, and public assistance programs with a high degree of accuracy and compliance.
- Maintain Records: Organize and update digital and physical filing systems to ensure strict adherence to state and federal regulations.
- Community Outreach: Assist in organizing and participating in community events to promote government programs and increase public engagement.
- Prepare Reports: Compile data and generate detailed, timely reports for department heads and elected officials.
- Streamline Processes: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify areas for improvement and implement efficient workflow solutions.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required; an Associate's degree in Public Administration or a related field is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a government, administrative, or customer service role is highly desirable.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and familiarity with government-specific software systems.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
- Attention to Detail: Strong organizational skills and the ability to maintain the strictest confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Availability: Must be willing to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings or weekends for community outreach initiatives.
