Responsibilities
- Answer emergency and non-emergency calls with accuracy and compassion
- Dispatch police units using CAD systems and radio communications
- Enter and maintain detailed incident reports in databases
- Provide critical information to officers in the field during emergencies
- Coordinate multi-agency responses during critical incidents
- Monitor radio channels for unit availability and status updates
- Remain calm under pressure while handling high-stress situations
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- US citizenship and valid Texas driver's license
- Ability to pass background check and drug screening
- Minimum typing speed of 40 WPM
- Proficiency with computer systems and multi-tasking
- Clear communication skills in English (bilingual Spanish a plus)
- Ability to work 12-hour shifts, nights, weekends, and holidays
- No felony convictions and clean driving record
