Responsibilities
- Deliver Mail and Packages: Sort and deliver mail to homes and businesses efficiently and accurately using a walking route or vehicle.
- Customer Interaction: Provide excellent customer service, answer inquiries, and handle complaints professionally.
- Sort and Process: Manage incoming and outgoing mail, including holding undeliverable items and forwarding mail.
- Equipment Maintenance: Maintain the cleanliness and safety of the delivery vehicle or walking equipment.
- Security Compliance: Adhere to all USPS safety protocols and security regulations to ensure the safety of mail and personnel.
- Route Management: Follow established routes and time schedules to ensure timely delivery.
Qualifications
- U.S. Citizenship: Must be a U.S. citizen or have permanent resident status.
- Driver's License: Valid state driver's license required; a commercial driver's license (CDL) may be required for vehicle routes.
- Background Check: Must pass a criminal background check and drug screening.
- Physical Ability: Ability to lift, carry, and push packages weighing up to 70 pounds repeatedly throughout the day.
- Education: High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Residency: Must reside within the Chula Vista area or willing to relocate.
