Responsibilities
- Deliver mail and packages along a prescribed route in a safe, accurate, and timely manner.
- Sort and prepare mail for delivery efficiently at the Post Office before the route begins.
- Interact professionally and courteously with customers to answer inquiries and resolve issues.
- Handle mail and packages with care to ensure they remain in good condition upon delivery.
- Maintain the assigned vehicle (if applicable) and perform pre-trip/post-trip inspections.
- Adhere to all USPS safety guidelines and operational procedures at all times.
Qualifications
- Be a U.S. citizen or a non-citizen eligible for permanent residency.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Have a valid driver's license (for City Carrier positions).
- Ability to lift packages weighing up to 70 lbs repeatedly and stand/walk for long periods of time.
- Ability to read, write, and speak English clearly and effectively.
- Must pass a background check and a drug screening.
