Responsibilities
- Sort and Process Mail: Accurately sort incoming and outgoing mail and packages according to address and route information.
- Deliver Mail: Safely and efficiently deliver mail and packages to residential and business customers along a designated route.
- Customer Service: Provide friendly and professional assistance to customers at the Post Office counter and during door-step deliveries.
- Vehicle Maintenance: Perform routine inspections and basic maintenance on delivery vehicles to ensure safety and compliance.
- Physical Handling: Lift, carry, and maneuver packages weighing up to 70 lbs over various terrains, including stairs and inclines.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of delivery attempts, receipts, and special handling instructions.
Qualifications
- Valid Driver’s License: Must possess a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- U.S. Citizenship: Must be a U.S. citizen or a permanent resident alien with the ability to pass a background check.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift for extended periods throughout the day.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal communication skills to interact with customers and colleagues.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to follow detailed instructions and ensure accuracy in sorting and routing.
- Availability: Flexibility to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays as required by the USPS schedule.
