Responsibilities
- Sort and Process Mail: Efficiently sort incoming mail and packages to ensure timely delivery based on route and address.
- Deliver Mail: Travel established routes to deliver mail and packages to customers' doorsteps or mailboxes, ensuring accuracy and care.
- Customer Service: Interact professionally and courteously with the public, handling inquiries and resolving delivery issues.
- Collect Mail: Collect and process outgoing mail from collection boxes and customers' mailboxes.
- Route Management: Maintain a clean and safe delivery vehicle, and ensure all required paperwork and reports are completed accurately.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to all USPS safety guidelines and traffic laws while operating a vehicle or walking the route.
Qualifications
- Citizenship: Must be a U.S. citizen or have legal right to work in the U.S.
- License: Valid driver's license required (depending on position type).
- Education: High school diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED).
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift packages weighing up to 70 lbs, walk on various terrains, and stand for extended periods.
- Background: Must pass a background check and drug screening.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
