Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain electronic health records (EHR) systems in compliance with HIPAA and VA regulations
- Implement data integrity protocols for clinical documentation and coding accuracy
- Coordinate health information privacy audits and security incident responses
- Train clinical staff on health information management best practices
- Collaborate with IT department on EHR system upgrades and compliance patches
- Generate reports on health information usage patterns and compliance metrics
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management or related field
- Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) certification required
- Minimum 3 years' experience in healthcare data management
- Familiarity with VA Vist EHR system preferred
- Expertise in HIPAA and healthcare compliance regulations
- Strong analytical skills with attention to data accuracy
- Ability to obtain and maintain VA security clearance
