Responsibilities
- Maintain and secure electronic health records (EHR) in compliance with HIPAA and VA regulations
- Conduct quality audits and data integrity checks for clinical documentation
- Implement health information management policies and procedures
- Collaborate with clinical teams on data accuracy and privacy standards
- Support transition to VA's electronic health record modernization initiatives
- Train staff on information management best practices
- Generate compliance reports for regulatory agencies
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management or related field
- RHIA or RHIT certification required
- 3+ years' experience with EHR systems (Epic/Cerner preferred)
- Expert knowledge of HIPAA and federal healthcare regulations
- Experience with data analytics and quality improvement methodologies
- Ability to obtain and maintain VA security clearance
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
