Responsibilities
- Maintain and optimize electronic health record systems (VistA/CPRS) in compliance with HIPAA and federal regulations
- Coordinate health information workflows across clinical departments to ensure accurate documentation
- Conduct audits and quality reviews to maintain data integrity and regulatory compliance
- Train staff on health information systems and best practices for data management
- Collaborate with IT security teams to implement robust data protection protocols
- Support transition initiatives for new healthcare technologies and system upgrades
- Analyze health data metrics to identify process improvement opportunities
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management or related field (Master's preferred)
- 3+ years of experience in healthcare IT with federal/military facility exposure
- Certified Health Information Administrator (CAHIIM) or RHIA credentials required
- Expertise in HIPAA compliance and healthcare data privacy regulations
- Proficiency in VistA/CPRS and DoD health information systems
- Demonstrated project management experience in healthcare technology implementations
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust security clearance
