Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain electronic health records (EHR) systems in compliance with federal regulations
- Implement health information privacy policies and HIPAA standards
- Oversee health data quality assurance and accuracy audits
- Coordinate with clinical teams to resolve documentation discrepancies
- Train staff on health information management best practices
- Lead system upgrades and process improvements for health records
- Ensure compliance with VA and Joint Commission standards
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management or related field
- RHIA or RHIT certification required
- 3+ years of health information management experience
- Expertise in EHR systems (e.g., Cerner, Epic)
- Knowledge of HIPAA and VA privacy regulations
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to obtain and maintain security clearance
- Experience with health data analytics preferred
